Ban Ki Moon was the 8th Secretary General of the United Nations. He is a builder of bridges, giving voice to the vulnerable and to the world’s poorest. He is a visionary, whose efforts to combat global poverty and universal strategy on women’s and children’s health has made him one of the most outstanding UN Secretary Generals to date. His excellency Ban was also elected chair of the IOC ethics commission, and has supported the United Through Sports initiative not only as a speaker but actively and together with the IOC President, as they opened the United Through Sports Festival during the 2019 SportAccord Convention on the Gold Coast.
