SportAccord Sports Festival

The SportAccord Sports Festival (SASF) inaugurated in 2017, is a celebration for the region and is a cooperation between SportAccord and United Through Sports. The festival takes place over 3 days during the annual SportAccord and is located close to the convention centre.

The Sports Festival is the ultimate celebration of youth, sports, regional history, community and culture promoting a healthy, inclusive and educational approach to keeping active and united. The festival showcases Olympic and Non-Olympic sports inviting International Federations and their National Federations to showcase their sport, whilst promoting the Olympic and Paralympic values. This unique Sports Festival focuses on Inclusion, Equality, Peace-promotion and Non-discrimination and functions across four sports festival zones: Sports for all, Main stage, Combat and Centre court. Ultimately, this collaboration is the perfect bridge between International Federations, National Federations, sport leaders, sports stars and the local community.

The festival event brings a unique platform to educate the youth in collaboration with the Ministry of Education to include seminars, workshops, Q&A sessions as well as conferences. The Sports Festival comprises a wide-ranging inclusive Sports demonstration Programme as well as a Festival Programme including: An Opening and Closing Conference, Launch Ceremony, Closing event and social initiatives.

This SASF is also an opportunity for the public and sport community to enjoy a spectacle of their youth where all abilities light up the region showcasing their unique talents in a fantastic diverse Launch Ceremony.

Essentially, the festival will bring the eyes of the international sport community to the region as a celebration of unity towards a brighter future and showcase the region as a sporting hub for future events, activities and collaborations.

The World Virtual Youth Festival (WVYF)

The Festival was created to encourage a healthy, inclusive and educational approach to keep connected, active and united. This event is the world’s first ever virtual youth festival, which invites Olympic and Non-Olympic sports together for a one-of-a kind international event. The festival typically brings over 100 participating sports, NGO’s and sport affiliated entities towards the promotion of Olympic, Paralympic and Special Olympics values with a focus on ensuring: Inclusion, Equality, Peace-promotion and Non-discrimination for everybody. Ultimately, this collaboration is the perfect bridge between International Federations, National Federations, their youth athletes, the region, local community, the global viewing public and beyond. The festival also serves to educate the youth and viewing public with the inclusion of a conference program where leaders of the sports world share their wisdom.

What makes this event truly special, is the collaboration of the IOC, IPC and SOI with UTS to ensure all youth is included. Whether the participants are athletes themselves or curious youth, there is something for everybody. This festival showcases local talents in fantastic, diverse opening and closing ceremonies that leave a legacy behind.

The Virtual Youth Festival is held every year in a different city, inviting the eyes of the world to experience the host city and showcase the region as a sporting hub for future events, activities and collaborations.
