The One Young World 2022 will start on the 5th to the 8th of September will be held at various venues across Manchester city.
The 2022 Summit will offer a hybrid of live, in-person workshops at both Manchester and regional One Young World Hubs, as well as online workshops that digital attendees can access through the One Young World Summit platform. The Opening Ceremony will be held at Bridgewater Hall, home of the Hallé Orchestra. Three days will be spent at Manchester Central, for a variety of speeches, panels, workshops and networking events.
All curated content at the Summit is shaped by the five Plenary Challenges, and these are the driving force for all discussions around creating a better world. The 2022 Plenary Challenge themes were decided by their Global Consultation Process with a community of 13,000+ Ambassadors. The challenges are:
- Conflict Prevention – How can we prevent conflicts?
- Gender Equality – How can we accelerate gender equality?
- Oceans – How can we safeguard and restore the world’s oceans?
- Ethical Leadership – How can we be and develop ethical leaders – more responsible and effective than previous generations?
- Health – How can we ensure health equity for all?
The Plenary sessions include speeches by world leaders and Delegate Speakers whose work lived experiences, and critical insights address the Plenary Challenges at hand, while offering ways for Delegates to take effective action when tackling global crises.
