Saudi Arabia to Host Second Edition of United Through Sports World Virtual Youth Festival 2021
After the first successful UTS World Virtual Youth Festival 2020 held in Bangkok, Thailand, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the UTS World Virtual Youth Festival 2021. The festival will be organized by a special committee under the supervision of the Riyadh Asian Games 2034 Organizing Committee and United Through Sports (UTS). It will take place from 20-27 November with the participation of over 100 international federations and organizations from around the world with hybrid workshop and conference to take place in Riyadh host of the 2021 edition.
President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee and OCA Vice President, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki al Faisal revealed that hosting this event in the kingdom would not have been possible without the generous and unlimited support from the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God protect them. The vision is towards raising the level of sport in Saudi Arabia by hosting and organizing the most important global events in line with the kingdom’s Vision 2030.
His Royal Highness added: “The kingdom is dedicated to developing the skills of youth through sport, education and culture, and this unique festival connects youth of all abilities across the world. Part of our mission is to ensure that despite the global pandemic, there is a significant increase of youth activity and sport engagement across Saudi Arabia.”
“Our united aim is to encourage the participation of over 30,000 children from around the world in this virtual festival, which will include 17 different events. The kingdom is proud to be the official host, reaching out from Riyadh to the world.”
Stephan Fox, President of United Through Sports, shared his enthusiasm and said: ” This event was originally intended to provide opportunities for young people of all abilities and social backgrounds during the pandemic. But what we have learnt is that even after the pandemic, this event is an important contribution in combining all young people in the spirit of sport. You do not need passports, visas or air tickets, as we are all united on a virtual platform.”
President Fox emphasized that the festival allows participating organizations, particularly sports organizations to work with a united vision towards a goal much larger than their own federations. President Fox said: “All of the over 100 organizations instantly chose to participate and contribute, as the immense festival value is clear. There, I must echo the inspiring words of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz who said so poignantly at the same event last year in Bangkok, when we unite, we are all right.”

متحدون من خلال الرياضة – المهرجان الإفتراضي للشباب – 2021
تستضيف المملكة العربية السعودية في الرياض مهرجان الفعالية الافتراضية الرياضية للشباب في نسخته الثانية، التي تنظمها اللجنة المنظمة لدورة الالعاب الاسيوية ٢٠٣٤ بالتعاون مع منظمة (متحدون من خلال الرياضة)، والذي يقام خلال الفترة 20-27 من نوفمبر المقبل بمشاركة أكثر من 100 اتحاد ومنظمة دولية حول العالم.
وبهذه المناسبة، قال صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي الفيصل وزير الرياضة رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية العربية السعودية في تصريح صحفي: “إن تنظيم المملكة لهذا الحدث الهام يجسد واقع ما تحظى به الرياضة السعودية من دعم سخي وغير محدود من قبل مولاي خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود – حفظه الله -، ومن سيدي صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، ولي العهد نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الدفاع – أيده الله – وحرصهما واهتمامهما المستمر والمتواصل لرفع مستوى الرياضة في بلادنا الغالية باستضافتها لأهم وأكبر الأحداث الرياضية العالمية تحقيقاً لمستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030”.
وأضاف سموه: “فخورون باستضافة المملكة لهذا الحدث النوعي والهام، فبلادنا – ولله الحمد – لطالما دأبت وكرست جهودها لتطوير مهارات الشباب في مختلف المجالات والأنشطة ولاسيما الرياضية منها، وما هذا المهرجان إلا فرصة مواتية لربط شباب العالم بعضهم ببعض بقدراتهم ومهاراتهم نحو تحقيق الأهداف التي ينشدها الجميع، كما أنه وبالرغم من الظروف الراهنة التي عاشها وما زال يعيشها العالم جرّاء جائحة فيروس كورونا، إلا أن نسبة ممارسة المجتمع لدينا – ولله الحمد – للرياضة ترتفع بشكل متسارع وملحوظ في مختلف مناطق المملكة، وبمختلف الفئات العمرية”.
واختتم سموه تصريحه قائلاً: “نستهدف مشاركة أكثر من 30 ألف طفل وطفلة من مختلف أنحاء العالم في هذا الحدث، الذي سيضم ما يقارب 17 فعالية متنوعة، في تجسيد للمعنى الحقيقي والهدف الأسمى من الرياضة”.
ومن جهته قال ستيفان فوكس، رئيس منظمة (متحدون من خلال الرياضة) :”هذا الحدث هو لتوفير الفرص للشباب من جميع الفئات والقدرات والخلفيات الإجتماعية خلال الجائحة، ولكن ما تعلمناه هو أنه حتى ما بعد الوباء، فإن هذا الحدث هو مساهمة مهمة في الجمع بين الشباب بروح الرياضة بالإضافة إلى انها لا تحتاج جوازات السفر والتأشيرات أو تذاكر الطيران فنحن جميعنا متحدون على منصة افتراضية”.
وأكد فوكس أنه يسمح للمنظمات المشاركة، وخاصة المنظمات الرياضية بالعمل من أجل شيء أكبر بكثير من اتحاداتها الخاصة وهذا هو السبب في عدم رفض أكثر من 100 منظمة مشاركة وجميعهم اختاروا المساهمة في هذا المهرجان حيث يرى الجميع قيمة كبيرة لهذا الحدث، مضيفاً أنه يجب ترديد الكلمات الملهمة للأمير عبد العزيز بن تركي الفيصل الذي قال في نفس الفعالية التي اُقيمت العام الماضي في بانكوك: (عندما نتحد، نحن على ما يرام(.
